The Super Bowl isn’t just for the hardcore NFL fan, particularly those who are die-hards for the teams involved.
It’s for everyone, and that’s where this post comes in — a list of some bets you can make at your party.
Sure, go ahead. Bet on the actual football (we already helped you with some of the best bets). But there’s also fun you can have with the extremely expensive commercials, the halftime show and other aspects of the game that aren’t actually about to game.
So here are our predictions for some moments that could be a part of Super Bowl 54.
1. Will the national anthem go over two minutes?
Charles: Yes
I did an extensive study on Demi Lovato’s history of singing the anthem at sporting events, and I happen to think the over is a lock.
Steven: Yes
I mean … Charles did more research than I’m willing to do. Listen to that man.
2. Will Demi Lovato forget a word of the anthem?
Charles: No.
I think everyone learned from Christina Aguilera and Lovato is a national anthem vet who’s done this at big events over the years.
Steven: No
Yeah, this is a no-brainer. These are professionals. They’re not going to forget a word to a song they’ve probably performed live a bunch of times.
3. How many times will 49ers coach Katie Sowers be shown?
Charles: At least once
This is an absolute lock.
Steven: Once or twice
This is a story, as it should be, and Fox will be all over it. If they don’t mention that bit of NFL history, we should be asking questions.
4. What will Jennifer Lopez’s first song be at the halftime show?
Charles: Waiting For Tonight
Credit to FiveThirtyEight for the extensive work on this one, and Get Right seems like the way to go. But I’m going with my gut and taking a song that seems tailor-made for a Super Bowl opener: upbeat, a bit hit and a song that talks about a specific, important night.
Steven: Get Right
I’m not going to go against the nerds at FiveThirtyEight. That way, if I lose, I can just blame somebody else. I’ve never even heard Get Right. Can’t pick it out of an audio lineup. But that’s the song that she’s opening with.
5. What will the Gatorade color dumped on the winning coach be?
Charles: Yellow/Green
It’s the safest choice. I also like betting on water or “clear.”
Steven: Blue
It was blue last year, and I’m guessing it will be blue again this year. I don’t know who makes these decisions and I don’t know what they’re based on, but let history guide you here.
6. Which commercial will be at the top of USA TODAY’s Ad Meter?
Charles: Doritos
The safe choice, but thus far, I have watched Smaht Pahk like 17 times.
Steven: Um, Smaht Pahk it is!
I didn’t realize there were already commercials out there in the wild, so this is the only one I’ve seen thanks to Charles. Boston accents are funny, kid.
7. Will Alex Rodriguez be shown during halftime?
Charles: Yes
Steven: No
Do they usually cut away from performances to show other celebrities? If I were Jennifer Lopez, I would have none of that. It’s her night. Keep Alex Rodriguez out of the spotlight.
8. Will Pitbull make an appearance at the halftime show?
Charles: Yes
The Miami native HAS to make a cameo, right??? I know he’s doing something else the day of, but still.

Steven: Please, NO
Oh god, haven’t we been through enough this last month?
9. Will Joe Buck or Troy Aikman talk about the spread?
Charles: Yes
I’m pretty sure about this one since FOX has its own betting app these days.
Steven: No
I don’t think the NFL is ready for that just yet and Fox isn’t going to want to upset ol’ Roger.
10. Will the broadcast reference the Andy Reid Punt, Pass and Kick video?
Charles: Yes
How can they not?
Steven: Sure
Why not?
