The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to keep the good vibes going after picking up two big wins at home. Considering they were playing the Atlanta Hawks, the worst team in the Eastern Conference, many believed it was a foregone conclusion that the Sixers would win this one.
That’s the thing with this talented, yet unpredictable, Sixers team. You never know which one is going to show up.
They got off to a tough start and they ended up falling victim to the explosive All-Star Trae Young and the Hawks 127-117. Young worked the Sixers to the tune of 39 points, a career-high 18 assists, and six rebounds as Philadelphia could not figure out how to handle him. He even had a double-double in the first quarter to start the game.

Philadelphia was led by their own All-Star in Ben Simmons who had 31 points, six rebounds, five assists, and four steals. They received a big game out of Shake Milton who scored a career-high 27 points to go along with six assists and five rebounds, Tobias Harris added 21 points added nine rebounds, and Joel Embiid had 21 points and 14 rebounds.
All of those impressive stat lines were not enough as the Hawks were mostly in control of this one as they led by as many as 16. It’s another disappointing road effort for the Sixers as they continue to drop these games on the road that they shouldn’t.
They will head to Boston now on Saturday to face the rival Celtics. [lawrence-related id=24581,24574,24567]
