After putting together a good rookie season in which he found himself being name to Pro Football Focus’ all-rookie team, Gardner Minshew II has found himself with another notable accolade to his name. This week, Snickers officially named him their Hungriest Player of the Year.
For those who can recall, Minshew won the Hungriest Player of the Week award during the first week in October after a huge comeback win on the road against the Denver Broncos. In that games, arguably his most notable, Minshew led the Jags to a comeback victory in which the Jags won by a final 26-24. He was able to go 19-of-33 for 213 yards and two touchdowns in the process and propelled the Jags through a last series drive in which kicker Josh Lambo made the game-winning field goal.
As a result of his victory, Minshew won Snickers’ jewel-encrusted “S” chain for the week which is valued at $75,000. Now, as the Hungriest Player of the Year, the chain is officially his to donate to the charity of his choice
