The XFL announced rosters ahead of its 2020 season and as expected, there are a few notable former Cincinnati Bengals players throughout the rebooting league.
Here are a few notables from the XFL’s official rosters:
- QB/RB Quinton Flowers (Tampa Bay)
- S Tyree Kinnel (D.C.)
- S Demetrious Cox (New York)
- OT Kent Perkins (St. Louis)
- C Kirk Barron (Seattle)
- S Derron Smith (Dallas)
- WR Kermit Whitfield (L.A.)
- DE Will Clarke (St. Louis)
Call it an interesting list. Quinton Flowers was a training camp favorite who had a stellar collegiate quarterback career before transitioning to running back.
Kent Perkins was one of the depth stashes before telling the Bengals he was retiring before last season, so they waived him.
Derron Smith was a high-upside safety taken in the sixth round back in 2015 and was a polarizing dismissal during a numbers game at a cutdown.
And Will Clarke might be the biggest name here, as the Bengals had used a third-round pick on him back in 2014 but he mustered just four sacks over three seasons with the team while not really growing into a meaningful role.
