One year after being on the sideline for a Super Bowl, Sean McVay will now be an analyst at one. ESPN announced on Monday that McVay will be a guest analyst on the network’s Super Bowl LIV pregame show, “Postseason NFL Countdown.”
The show will be live from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, the site of the big game between the Chiefs and 49ers.
“I’m very honored and excited to serve as a guest analyst with ESPN for their pregame coverage of the Super Bowl,” said McVay. “I look forward to helping provide an in-depth look at both teams and highlight the specific matchups and schemes from a coaching perspective that have been instrumental in both the Chiefs and 49ers earning a chance to play for a world title.”
McVay led the Rams to Super Bowl LIII last season, but they came up short and lost to the Patriots, 13-3. Los Angeles missed the playoffs this year after finishing the year 9-7, the first time McVay hasn’t made the postseason since joining the Rams.
He’s one of the smartest coaches in the NFL and viewers on Sunday will be treated to his insight and knowledge of the game before kickoff. This will be his first stint as a pregame analyst, but most likely not his last.
