Kyrie Irving’s performance vs. Pistons by the numbers

To say the least, Kyrie Irving put up some impressive numbers in the Brooklyn Nets’ win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.

Kyrie Irving had himself quite the performance in Brooklyn’s 121-111 win over the Pistons in Detroit.

The Nets point guard came five points shy of tying his season-high 50 points, which he set on opening night against the Minnesota Timberwolves. But there are a few other numbers that illustrate just how good Irving’s night was:

  • Irving only had one turnover in the win. His 50 points against the Timberwolves are the most points scored in a single game by a Net with one or fewer turnovers. His 45 points against the Pistons is the second-highest mark.
  • No one in the NBA has scored more against the Pistons than Irving in 2019-20.
  • Irving’s 29 second half points are the most by a Nets player in 2019-20. Irving previously set the mark at 25, in the same game he scored 50 against Minnesota.
  • Irving has scored 30-plus points in six games this season. That’s the second-most by a Net in 2019-20 (Spencer Dinwiddie leads the team with seven.)
  • This is Irving’s first 30-point game of 2020, and his first since his 26-game layoff.
  • Saturday marked the third time Irving has taken 30 shots in a game this year. It’s also the first time he’s done so since coming back from his right shoulder impingement.
  • Irving shot 50% from the floor. It’s the sixth time he’s done so in 2019-20.
  • Irving went a perfect 10-for-10 at the free-throw line. It’s the fourth time he’s had double-digit free-throw attempts while with the Nets, and the second time he’s been perfect at the charity stripe when earning at least 10 trips.
  • He registered a +13 plus-minus. It’s the fifth time he’s had a plus-minus of +10 or better this year.
  • Last, but not least, Irving logged his eighth game with seven or more assists of the season.
