The 49ers’ play their home games in Santa Clara, but they’d celebrate a Super Bowl championship in their original home. Scott Ostler and Ann Killion of the San Francisco Chronicle both reported Thursday that the 49ers’ parade would take place in San Francisco. Ostler spoke to former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who declared the parade would be in the city.
Killion also reported the parade would happen Feb. 5, the Wednesday after the game.
Confirmed. It will be on Wednesday the 5th. If, in fact, the 49ers win the Super Bowl. https://t.co/ag6V76DGhr

There were some questions about whether the 49ers would hold the parade in the City or closer to Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara or San Jose.
The 49ers called San Francisco home from their inception in 1946 until they moved to Levi’s Stadium in 2014, and they’re still tied to their original city with their team name.
It’s not a huge surprise the 49ers would go back to San Francisco for a Super Bowl celebration since they’re still tied to the city historically and with San Francisco still in their name.
None of the parade plans will matter if they don’t pull out a win over the Chiefs next Sunday in Miami. The 49ers are 1.5-point underdogs and facing a scorching hot Kansas City club that’s overcome 24-point and 10-point deficits in their two playoff wins.
A win in Super Bowl LIV certainly isn’t guaranteed, but if they do get their sixth Lombardi Trophy, it’ll be celebrated in their rightful home.
Kickoff from Hard Rock Stadium in Miami is Sunday, Feb 2 at 3:30pm PST.
