Young Rams fan is petitioning to get Super Bowl moved to Saturday

One young Rams fan is trying to get the Super Bowl moved to Saturday, giving most fans the next day off.

Every year, fans voice their opinions about the time and day of the Super Bowl. It’s always played on a Sunday night with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET, making the following Monday a rough day at work.

With the game usually ending around 10:15 p.m. ET, fans on the East Coast have long said they’d like the game to start earlier or be played on a Saturday night – thus giving most people the next day off.

One teen in New York, Frankie Ruggeri – who’s a Rams fan – is trying to make that happen, petitioning to get the game moved to Saturday. People are supporting his efforts, too, with 18,000 signing the petition as of Thursday morning.

“(I want) for the Super Bowl to be on Saturday because schools are not open the next day,” he said in an interview with a local TV station. “With school the next morning or work, might as well put it on Saturday.

“Hopefully, it just passes on. Makes awareness. The small idea turns into (a big one).”

He hopes to get “tons and millions” of signatures on his petition to get the Super Bowl moved. Clearly thousands of people agree with his opinion, but it’ll be hard to get the NFL to change Super Bowl Sunday to Saturday.
