First, it was Tim Tebow.
The former Heisman Trophy winner from Florida had an up-and-down NFL career. Tebow won an NFL Playoff game in Denver, but many wanted to see him become a tight end or full back.
Fast forward to 2020, and Oklahoma’s Jalen Hurts is in sort of the same predicament.
Down at the Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, Hurts was already asked if he would be willing to change positions.

“I’ve always been a team first guy, but I’m a quarterback,” Hurts told reporters at the Reese’s Senior Bowl.
The 2019 Oklahoma signal-caller put up huge stats in his senior season for the Sooners. Hurts threw for 3,841 passing yards and 32 touchdowns, rushed for 1,298 more yards and 20 touchdowns.
His stats were great, but in the biggest games, Hurts struggled to open up Oklahoma’s vertical passing game. In the College Football Playoff at the Peach Bowl, Oklahoma’s quarterback went 15-of-31 for 217 yards and an interception. He missed multiple open receivers and took chances that didn’t need to be taken.
The Senior Bowl will take place in Mobile, Alabama, on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. CT.
