Shortly after the Brooklyn Nets added Kyrie Irving to their injury report and listed him as questionable on Monday, the team ruled the point guard out for their Martin Luther King Jr. Day afternoon (3 p.m.) matchup against the Philadelphia 76ers. Irving is dealing with right hamstring tightness.
But Irving didn’t injure his hamstring prior to Monday’s game. Kenny Atkinson told reporters Irving’s hamstring has been tight, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post. Atkinson also added that Irving had his hamstring checked out by the Nets medical staff on Sunday and again on Monday. The team decided it was best to play it safe.
The Nets, however, will have Joe Harris and Garrett Temple back to face the Sixers. Harris missed Saturday’s game against the Milwaukee Bucks due to lower back soreness. Temple has been out the last three games with a right knee contusion.
