Anthony Davis to miss fifth straight game Saturday at Rockets

The Los Angeles Lakers will be without their leading scorer Anthony Davis for the fifth straight game in their Saturday night game.

The Los Angeles Lakers have a primetime game on Saturday night against the Houston Rockets but the increased spotlight isn’t putting any extra pressure on their star player to come back from a severe bruise on his backside.

Anthony Davis will miss his fifth straight game with a bruise on his bum, stemming from a nasty fall in their Lakers Jan. 7 win over the New York Knicks, according to The Athletic’s Bill Oram. Without Davis, Kyle Kuzma will likely start again in his place as he has for the past five games. However, the Lakers definitely need Kuzma to play better than he has as of late.

After putting up games of 26 and 36 points immediately after going into the starting lineup, Kuzma has scored a total of 15 points over the last two games for L.A. Obviously LeBron James had a difficult game from the field against Orlando, but a victory will be difficult if Kuzma doesn’t play the role of co-star he’s being asked to play while Davis works his way back to health.
