The Philadelphia Eagles are in need of youth and energy at the wide receiver position and LSU’s exodus of National Championship players leaving school for the NFL Draft could benefit the NFC East champs.
LSU wide receiver Justin Jefferson joined All-American safety Grant Delpit and linebacker Patrick Queen in declaring for the NFL Draft.
Jefferson announced his decision during an interview with Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports.
“We just had a perfect year,” Jefferson said. “We won the national championship and set records. We had a lot of awards and did it with our team. I feel like it was the best way to go.”
Jefferson a fast and elusive playmaker who caught 111 passes for 1,540 yards and 18 touchdowns for the nation’s No. 1 team.
Jefferson projects to be selected between the late first round and the second, giving the Eagles ample opportunity to snag another explosive target for Carson Wentz.
