The Green Bay Packers are adding another CFL star to the upcoming offseason roster.
According to Rob Demovsky of ESPN, the Packers signed defensive back DeShaun Amos to a futures deal, meaning he’ll join the 90-man roster once the offseason begins.
The Packers recently signed receiver Reggie Begelton, a CFL all-star who was a teammate of Amos (6-0, 193) with the Calgary Stampeders.
A 25-year-old from East Carolina, Amos produced five interceptions for Calgary last season. Like Begelton, he was named a CFL all-star.
Amos originally signed with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2017 but was released at final cuts.
Amos played 49 games at East Carolina, tallying 116 tackles, 11 pass breakups, one interception, 5.5 tackles for losses, two sacks and two fumble recoveries.
The Packers worked out Amos this week. The Stampeders released him to pursue an NFL opportunity.
