4-round mock draft for Cardinals after divisional round of playoffs

The Cardinals land a big-time receiver, an OL, a CB and a pass rusher.

It is still more than three months away from the 2020 NFL draft but it is definitely still mock draft season. With the divisional round of the playoffs done, we know the order of the first 28 picks.

Draft Wire managing editor Luke Easterling published a new four-round mock draft and the Arizona Cardinals address a number of needs.

Who are the picks in these projections?

Round 1, pick 8: Oklahoma WR CeeDee Lamb

This is a common projection to the Cardinals right now. The connection makes a lot of sense. He was teammates with Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray. He is dynamic. He plays in a similar offense and the Cardinals need a true No. 1 receiver.

Writes Easterling:

This may surprise some, seeing Lamb come off the board before Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see some teams have them graded in that order. One such team could absolutely be the Cards, who would love to pair Lamb with his college quarterback, Kyler Murray. This tandem could make the same kind of magic they did in Norman.

Lamb had 62 receptions for 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns this past season.

Round 2, pick 8: Washington OT Trey Adams

Adams comes from a Huskies program that is sending tons of talent to the NFL. At 6-8, 318 pounds, he has the frame to play tackle in the NFL and the Cardinals could use a right tackle moving forward or maybe even a left tackle if they don’t extend the contract of D.J. Humphries.

Round 3, pick 8: Nebraska CB Lamar Jackson

Jackson has ideal length at 6-3, 215 pounds and had five interceptions in the last two seasons. He also broke up 12 passes last season.

Round 4, pick 8: Michigan State EDGE Kenny Willekes

Willekes was a productive pass rusher. The 6-4, 260-pounder combined for 18 sacks and 36 tackles for loss the last two years.
