UFC 247 is less than a month away, but its lineup still is growing.
A bantamweight bout between [autotag]Andre Ewell[/autotag] (15-6 MMA, 2-2 UFC) and Jonathan Martinez (11-2 MMA, 2-1 UFC) is on tap for the event. Two persons with knowledge of the matchup informed MMA Junkie of the targeted booking Monday morning. Mike Heck was first to report the news.
UFC 247 takes place Feb. 8 at Toyota Center in Houston. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
Ewell will look to rebound from a ground-and-pound stoppage loss to Marlon Vera at UFC 239 this past July. The former CES MMA champion has dropped two of his past three fights.
The California-born Martinez has won back-to-back fights since losing to Andre Soukhamthath in his promotional debut. At UFC on ESPN+ 13 this past July, the Factory X product picked up a performance bonus for his knee knockout of Pingyuan Liu.
