Three days prior to their UFC 246 headliner, [autotag]Conor McGregor[/autotag] and [autotag]Donald Cerrone[/autotag] will see eye to eye for the first time since the bout was made official.
McGreor and Cerrone will participate in a fight week news conference ahead of their scheduled matchup, the promotion announced Wednesday afternoon.
The news conference is set to take place Wednesday, Jan. 15 at Pearl Concert Theater in Las Vegas. It’s scheduled to kick off at 5 p.m. PT (8 p.m. ET) with the doors opening at 3:30 p.m. locally. The event is free and open to the public.
UFC 246 takes place Jan. 18 at T-Mobile. The card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on ESPN and UFC Fight Pass/ESPN+.
Despite almost always showing up late, McGregor’s news conference antics served as a major booster to his sky-high popularity. The former UFC double champion has a knack for trash talk and always has attracted eyeballs in doing so. It’s unlikely next Wednesday will be any different.
This won’t be the first time McGregor (21-4 MMA, 9-2 UFC) and “Cowboy” Cerrone (35-13 MMA, 22-10 UFC) have shared the stage at a UFC news conference. The two infamously exchanged words in 2015 prior to McGregor’s title victory against then-champion Jose Aldo.
