As if Jake Fromm leaving for the 2020 NFL Draft wasn’t painful enough, Georgia sophomore offensive tackle Cade Mays has entered the NCAA transfer portal just minutes after, 247Sports confirmed.

Mays played in all 14 of Georgia’s games this year and started 11 of them.

Georgia has already lost Isaiah Wilson, Andrew Thomas and Solomon Kindley to the NFL Draft, and losing Mays could seriously diminish the Dawgs offensive line.

Mays’ father played O-line at Tennessee, which could give some insight on where the Tennessee native’s head is at, but we cannot say for sure.  Former Georgia offensive line coach and now Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman also played a big role in Mays coming to UGA, which could potentially hint to Mays following Pittman to Arkansas.

4th year junior right guard Ben Cleveland’s status is still up in the air for now.  Cleveland was deemed academically ineligible for the Sugar Bowl this year and has not announced his plans for his senior season yet.

Some tough news this Wednesday afternoon but it’s next man up for Kirby Smart.
