Report: Former Bengals coach Marvin Lewis meeting with Cowboys

Could Marvin Lewis coach the Cowboys?

Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis continues to be involved with the head coach carousel this offseason.

Next up is a link with the Dallas Cowboys, with a new report suggesting he’s one of the names set to meet with the team.

Per ESPN’s Todd Archer:

“In addition to former Green Bay coach Mike McCarthy, the Cowboys are meeting with former Cincinnati coach Marvin Lewis on Saturday as well, according to multiple sources.”

Those Cowboys still haven’t made anything official with former head coach Jason Garrett, so the mention of McCarthy and Lewis is interesting. Lewis spent 16 years with the Bengals before helping Herm Edwards at Arizona State this past season.

While Lewis was presumably happy at the collegiate level, this is the second time his name has come up already and openings with teams like the Cowboys don’t happen often.

Lewis was previously mentioned in a report linking him to the Washington Redskins before Ron Rivera got the job there.
