Green Bay Packers running back Aaron Jones was one of the hardest players to tackle during the 2019 NFL season.

According to pro-football-reference.com, Jones was tied for the NFL lead with 32 “broken tackles” on run plays during the regular season. He added 10 broken tackles on receiving plays, giving him an NFL-high 42 total broken tackles in 2019.

Jones finished second in the NFL in run attempts per broken tackle at 7.4, trailing only New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara. He was tied for fifth in receptions per broken tackle at 4.9 (note: teammate Jamaal Williams led the NFL in receptions per broken tackle at 3.9).

Although not a big running back, Jones has a rare combination of elite quickness, lateral agility and balance through contact. He can run through arm tackles, side-step tacklers in space or stiff-arm past defenders to the outside.

Jones emerged as a legitimate star for the Packers offense in 2019, producing 1,084 rushing yards, five games over 100 rushing yards, 16 rushing touchdowns, 1,558 total yards and 19 total touchdowns.

Only Jones and Kamara had at least 25 broken tackles on run plays and 10 or more broken tackles on receiving plays in 2019.
