In honor of the start of 2020 Wednesday, we decided to put together a list of the Top 10 Georgia football wins from the past decade.
You’ve probably seen our first few listings which can be found on the front page of our site, but now it’s time to reveal the No. 6 spot in our rankings.
We’ve had quite a few games to choose from so far, but for No. 6 we are going to go with this year’s Georgia-Auburn game. Sure, there may be some recency bias, but the defensive performance the Bulldogs had on the Plains was outstanding and this game locked up a third-straight division title for Kirby Smart and company.
UGA Wire attended this game in November so it’s fresh in the back of our minds, but Jordan-Hare was an incredible takeover experience with a sea of Georgia fans and the stakes of this game were massive. The Bulldogs don’t often win at Auburn and the fact this was Smart’s first SEC road victory as a head coach made it that much sweeter.
In addition, the Iron Bowl went in the Tigers’ favor over Alabama just two weeks later, so yeah, that’s pretty cool. The Gumps can’t claim victory over little brother this year, but the Bulldogs can. *Waits for a 1980 or 2nd and 26 comment.*
