Boston Celtics fan favorite two-way center Tacko Fall had his first-ever career start for the Maine Red Claws Friday, though it unfortunately came in a 117-116 loss to the Capital City Go-Gos.
The Red Claws, Boston’s G League affiliate, were without all Celtics players but Fall for the contest, helping smooth the path for the Washington Wizards’ affiliate team to steal the win from Maine.
The Celtics’ most recent lottery pick, Romeo Langford, had been called up with rookie sharpshooter Carsen Edwards and two-way point guard Tremont Waters to play in Boston’s home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers that same day.
Waters would score 5 points, Langford 3 and Edwards nil against the Cavs, but came away with the win as consolation.
While the Claws took a last-minute loss decided on free throws with so much firepower absent, the Senegalese big man still managed to have himself a game, logging 12 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks over 23 minutes of play.
He had several highlight-worthy blocks and dunks as he usually does, at least keeping the fans engaged despite the unfavorable outcome — watch the video above to see the best of them.
The Red Claws next face the College Park SkyHawks on Sunday at 1pm ET this Sunday, Dec. 29 at home, and will be broadcast by NBC Sports Boston.
