The Green Bay Packers announced a contract extension for backup offensive lineman Lucas Patrick, who would have been a restricted free agent following the 2019 season.
Patrick has stuck around as a versatile backup along the interior of the offensive line, playing in 39 games and making six starts over the last three seasons. In 2019, Patrick has been on the field for 69 total snaps on offense, including 54 as a fill-in when center Corey Linsley suffered a concussion in Week 5 against the Dallas Cowboys.
Patrick started games at left and right guard in both 2017 and 2018.
The Packers signed Patrick as an undrafted free agent following a tryout in 2016. He spent his entire first season in Green Bay on the practice squad.
Patrick played the 2019 season on a one-year, $645,000 deal.
Saturday was the deadline for contract extensions counting towards the 2019 salary cap.
