As has been the case for most of the season, NFL picks don’t favor the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 17.
Those Bengals host the Cleveland Browns to end the season but the experts in charge of making weekly picks don’t see much different happening here for the one-win hosts.
Just 24 percent of experts polled at NFL Pick Watch think the Bengals pull off the upset Sunday.
At this stage of the season a game between two hopeless teams is almost impossible to pick. Some might think the 20-plus point showing in the fourth quarter during last week’s loss to Miami might translate to Sunday.
But that’s a fleeting reason to pick the Bengals here based on how the rest of the season has unfolded. And while the Browns are a mess too, they did win this matchup during the second week of December, 27-19.
It’s hard to overly fault those in charge of picks here either way. Maybe Andy Dalton goes out with a bang while Cleveland keeps stumbling. Maybe the Browns do just enough to beat the NFL’s worst team.
Either way, both fanbases are probably excited to see what happens this offseason, especially in the draft sense.
