Nets gift wrap game for Knicks, lose 94-82

Spencer Dinwiddie scored plenty of points on Thursday, but he and his Brooklyn Nets teammates weren’t efficient against the New York Knicks.

On Thursday, the Brooklyn Nets had as ugly of a loss as they’ve had all season. The offense simply was not there, which made for a relatively easy night for the New York Knicks.

In the third game of the 2019-20 season series between New York’s two basketball teams, Brooklyn’s crosstown rival earned their first win over the Nets with the 94-82 finish.

Even Spencer Dinwiddie, who scored 25 points, wasn’t at his best. He went 5-for-15 from the floor (3-for-9 from 3-point territory) and went 12-for-17 at the free-throw line (70.6%). He did have eight rebounds, but the point guard also turned the ball over five times.

No other Net finished in double figures. Joe Harris, DeAndre Jordan and Rodions Kurucs finished second on the team in scoring with eight points apiece.

As a team, Brooklyn shot 26.9% from the floor and 26.0% from 3-point territory. After a first half in which Brooklyn didn’t knock down shots on back-to-back possessions once, the Nets didn’t log their first field goal until there was 3:52 left in the third quarter.
