Caris LeVert is making progress with the rehabilitation of his surgically repaired right thumb, but he still isn’t quite ready for game action yet.
Right before Christmas, LeVert took another step with his work on the court and participated in almost every portion of practice. He was even allowed to take on contact from coaches
However, the Brooklyn Nets will still be without the shooting guard in their game against the New York Knicks on Thursday. Additionally, the Nets have yet to update the timeline for LeVert’s return — he was originally set to return four to six weeks after his surgery and Thursday marked six weeks since his surgery.
When he addressed reporters before Thursday’s game at Barclays Center, LeVert would not put a timeline on his return. He did add he’s still participating in contact drills with coaches, so no sign of a setback, per Alex Schiffer of The Athletic.
“I’m right there but I’m not playing in games yet,” LeVert said.
