The Washington Redskins can’t catch a break when it comes to injuries, but sometimes just saying it doesn’t do the idea justice.
The above chart sure helps. Courtesy of Over The Cap, it illustrates just how much cash the Redskins have invested on injured players compared to the rest of the league.
Only the Bengals have more losses, obviously, but the Redskins are alone on the far right in terms of money. It’s no wonder with names like Jordan Reed, Ryan Kerrigan, Alex Smith, Ryan Kerrigan and Paul Richarson on injured reserve, not to mention the Trent Williams situation.
While injuries don’t tell the whole story of the season, it sure doesn’t hurt to bring up that factor and this offers a jarring illustration of the role it played.
