As LaMelo Ball continues through his inaugural year of professional basketball, he has continued to lean on one of the few people in his life that has gone through what he is currently. During a recent interview at a sneaker store in Australia, Ball talked about his daily talks with brother Lonzo and what the brothers discuss.

I pretty much talk to him every day. He’s always giving me advice. (He) pretty much (says) ‘keep your head up. Do what you want to do. And whatever you feel is best, follow that.’

Prior to the NBA season, Lonzo also talked about his conversations with LaMelo and the advice he had given him early in his time in Australia during a podcast with Adrian Wojnarowski.

“For sure, especially for Melo. I feel like he needs me now more than ever. This is the most he’s called me since we’ve been separated, pretty much. Those guys, I’ll help them with anything. It doesn’t have to be basketball. You can come to me for whatever. That’s what I’m here for. They’ve always looked up to me my whole life so I don’t think they’ll stop now.”

A variety of things have caused the two to bond in the last year, ranging from the happenings with Big Baller Brand and Alan Foster to LaMelo beginning his professional career. Lonzo is one of the few people around LaMelo that has experienced playing professionally and the build-up to the NBA Draft.

It’s also interesting to hear the brothers talk about their conversations and relationship without any input or mention of their father LaVar, who was once a big, if not also loud, part of their public personas.
