Redick, who is 14 years older than Fultz, attempted to protect Fultz as much as possible when their tenures overlapped in Philadelphia. “I care about him,” Redick said Sunday after the Pelicans’ loss. “I care about who he is as a person. I think he’s a wonderful young man. I think he’s got an amazing spirit, and I think with everything he went through, that spirit got broken a little bit. And so to see that spirit come back is really meaningful to me. “I know he loves the game, and so I just want him to enjoy the game. Sometimes the rise, or the ascension, to becoming a star player doesn’t happen as quickly for some guys, and he had a little setback. But I’m expecting him to have a great career.”
