The Arizona Cardinals defeated the Cleveland Browns Sunday afternoon at home 38-24. It ended their six-game streak and closed out their home schedule with a win, only their second of the year and third in two years.

Quarterback Kyler Murray played much better than he had in the previous two weeks. He set a team record and tied another.

Entering the game, he needed 54 rushing yards to set the franchise record for rushing yards by a quarterback. The record was set in 1951 by Charley Trippi with 501 yards, and he didn’t only play quarterback.

Murray rushed for 56 yards on eight attempts, giving him 504 on the season. He is now the record-holder.

With a touchdown pass, he extended his franchise record for the most touchdown passes by a rookie. He now has 17 on the season to go with 10 interceptions.

The win gave him four on the season. While that isn’t much, it ties Jake Plummer for the most wins by a rookie starting quarterback.

Murray now is tied for the most wins by a rookie, he has the most passing yards by a rookie and the most touchdown passes by a rookie. He has the most rushing yards in a season by any quarterback in franchise history.

The season might not have gone well, as the Cardinals are only 4-9-1, but Murray certainly looks like he will be good for years to come.
