The Cincinnati Bengals have been absolutely terrible this season, as they entered Sunday’s game agains the New England Patriots with a league worst record of 1-12.
They’re going to keep their stranglehold on the No. 1 pick in next spring’s NFL Draft for another week as Tom Brady and the Patriots pulled away from the Bengals in the second half and opened up what was kind of a close game at halftime.
After kicking a field goal in the fourth quarter, the Bengals attempted an onside kick and… boy was it a bad one. This feeble attempt went five yards and the ball just spun around before coming to a stop. The Patriots then scored a TD two plays later.
Look at how bad this was:

I mean, that was SO Bengals.
NFL fans had fun with it:
The Bengals kicking an onside kick that stops dead 5 yards down the field is the perfect metaphor for the franchise that a screenwriter couldn’t even come up @JayMorrisonATH @pauldehnerjr

That was a very Bengal onside kick. The tank is alive and well.

@WhoDey_UK We all know #bengals kicker Randy Bullock hasn’t got the leg, forget FGs more than 50 yards, but now he can’t get an onside kick more than 5 yards!

Bengals with the best, and by best I mean THE WORST attempt at an onside kick I’ve seen in years 😂

That onside kick is the perfect definition of a “Bungal”
