No surprises among 49ers inactives vs. Falcons

The 49ers list of inactives was mostly determined Friday. The good news is there weren’t any surprises on the list Sunday.

Most of the 49ers inactives for Sunday’s showdown with the Falcons were determined Friday. Richard Sherman, Dee Ford, Jaquiski Tartt, K’Waun Williams and Jullian Taylor were all listed as ‘out’ on the team’s official status report.

The inactives list didn’t reveal any surprises:

CB Richard Sherman
DE Dee Ford
SS Jaquiski Tartt
CB K’Waun Williams
DL Jullian Taylor
QB C.J. Beathard
WR Jordan Matthews

Sherman and Ford are both dealing with hamstring injuries. Tartt broke a rib against the Ravens, and Williams sustained a concussion against the Saints. Taylor has an elbow injury that’s kept him out of the last two games. Getting that group healthy for the postseason has to be priority No. 1 for the 49ers moving forward, so it tracks logically that they wouldn’t try and push anyone into action against the Falcons.

Matthews was added after Marquise Goodwin went on Injured Reserve earlier in the week. He’s an additional body in case of another injury, but the 49ers will suit up five wide receivers Sunday with Dante Pettis returning from a knee injury that kept him out of two games.

Pettis will join Deebo Samuel, Emmanuel Sanders, Kendrick Bourne and Richie James Jr. in the receiving corps.
