LeBron James and Anthony Davis dominate 2nd half to give Heat first home loss

LeBron James and Anthony Davis turned it up in the second half to give the Los Angeles Lakers their sixth straight win.

It looked for a while that LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers needed to shake off a Friday night hangover but once the second half began, James, Anthony Davis and the best team in the Western Conference showed their mettle and also gave the Miami Heat their first home loss of the season, 113-110.

Anthony Davis had a game-high 33 points to go with 10 rebounds while LeBron James had 28 points, 12 assists, and nine rebounds to extend their current win streak to six games. Friday was also the 12th straight win for the Lakers on the road to move to 22-3 overall.

After trailing by 59-51 at halftime, the Lakers took control of the game with a 37-26 third quarter that put L.A. in prime position to win the game. Part of the reason that the first half was so bad was that LeBron James had seven turnovers in the first half, fueling Miami possessions going the other way.

James recovered nicely in the second half, scoring 17 of his 28 points to go with nine assists in the second half while Davis had 18 of his 33 in the second half of Friday night’s big win.

At the end of the game, Jimmy Butler got a look at a game-tying 3-pointer as time expired but it didn’t go in as the Heat lost their first home game of the season.
