Vikings WR Adam Thielen expected to play vs. Chargers

Thielen has played in just one game since injuring his hamstring in Week 7 against the Lions.

Good news, Vikings fans!

As the team prepares for Sunday’s Week 15 matchup against the Chargers in Los Angeles, two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Adam Thielen (hamstring) is not on the team’s injury report.

Since injuring his hamstring in Week 7 against the Lions, Thielen has appeared in just one game (Week 9).

It will be a big boost for Minnesota’s offense, which has been fine in Thielen’s absence, but you’d rather have one of the best route runners in the league than not.

The bad news for the Vikings is that they will be without backup running back Alexander Mattison and safety Jayron Kearse. Questionable for the Vikings is cornerback Xavier Rhodes and wide receiver Bisi Johnson.

Don’t sleep on how important Mattison’s injury could be. While the Vikings do have Dalvin Cook, Mattison has been one of the best rookies in the league this season.

If Rhodes (ankle) can’t play, we can expect Mike Hughes to get some more reps.
