Nets fans know all too well how intense Kenny Atkinson can get. In fact, most fans from opposing NBA teams probably have a good idea of how firey Brooklyn’s head coach can be.
An approach like Atkinson’s can be fun for fans, but there’s not always a guarantee it will go over well with players.
Players’ leftover from last year’s team appreciate Atkinson, and some of the new Nets, like Taurean Prince, have expressed their appreciation for Atkinson from Day 2.
One Nets player who approaches the game much differently than Atkinson is his backup center, DeAndre Jordan. The veteran likes to keep things loose — whether it’s when he’s on the floor or getting his teammates ready to start the game.

But, just because they’re different doesn’t mean Atkinson and Jordan don’t mesh. At Tuesday’s practice, Jordan explained to reporters why he likes the way Brooklyn’s head coach handles his job:
Kenny’s crazy, man. He’s crazy, in a good way. He’s very competitive. And he has that East Coast, like, New Yorker — he’s from Jersey, right? [Long Island.] He has that kind of attitude about him and that gets us fired up.
