While fellow Boston Celtics two way player Tremont Waters has been doing his best to hold down the fort in his absence, it’s clear the Maine Red Claws greatly miss Tacko Fall’s imposing presence in the paint.
Luckily for Boston’s G League affiliate, it’s looking like the wait might soon be over, with the Senegalese two-way big man having been seen doing some on-court rehabilitation work at the Celtics’ practice facility in Waltham on Sunday.
Fall suffered a contusion to his knee in a game against the Memphis Hustle (the Grizzlies’ G League affiliate) on November 25.
Two days later, the team announced the 7-foot-5 forward was expected to miss 1-2 weeks to recover from the non-serious injury, or roughly Dec. 9-11 on the far side of that prognosis.

If the timetable holds, the UCF product should be on track to return to action in the next few days, providing the Claws with the interior presence they have been sorely missing in his absence.
It will also give Fall more of the repetitions he needs to move towards game time with the parent club.
Don’t expect a rush to get the former Golden Knight into green and white though, as Boston plans to take its time giving Fall the space he needs to become the player team president Danny Ainge and company think he can.
“You just want to see him develop, that’s all,” explained Ainge (via the Boston Herald’s Steve Bulpett). “Right now we have a plan, and we’ll go with that plan and develop him the best we can this year.”
