The Houston Texans slipped up to the Denver Broncos on Sunday. They lost a game where they were favored in — via analytics, expert predictions and Las Vegas — handily. The 38-24 final at NRG Stadium does not depict the beat down Houston received, trailing by as many as 31-3 at halftime.
However, it’s one game. As bad as that game may be, it’s not one that will end their season. The Texans remain a playoff team, as they hold the tiebreaker over the Tennessee Titans for the crown of the AFC South.
“Everything that we want is in front of us,” Texans defensive tackle D.J. Reader said. “We just got to take care of it. It’s not like depressing or anything, or anything like that, but we just got to go out there and play better. That’s just the biggest issue.”
The season is far from over for the Texans. Next week, they must take care of business against the 8-5 Titans.
Win: have sole position of the division.
Lose: continue to fight, as a wild-card team.
