Josh Richardson looks to return from injury soon

Josh Richardson looks to return from injury soon.

PHILADELPHIA — Former University of Tennessee basketball player and National Basketball Association standout Josh Richardson has now missed three consecutive games for the Philadelphia 76ers due to injury.

Richardson, who joined the 76ers due to a 2019 draft night trade with the Miami Heat, is starting for Philadelphia, but he has missed the last three games due to hamstring tightness.

The trade sent Jimmy Butler to South Florida.

Richardson joined fellow VFL Tobias Harris this season, and together, the duo has the Sixers in the heat of the early Eastern Conference Playoff race despite the fact that the team has been hit hard by injuries.

Joel Embid has missed time due to load management. Newcomer Al Horford, who signed as an offseason free agent, has also sat out for rest. Ben Simmons has struggled with a shoulder injury.

Richardson worked out Tuesday and looks to return soon.
