When the Philadelphia 76ers went out and brought in Al Horford in free agency, it raised a few questions. The biggest one was how would this all work? The NBA is trending towards a lot of small ball and he and Joel Embiid are certainly not small people.
After a 103-94 win over the Utah Jazz on Monday night, the two had a solid night as Horford had 17 points, eight rebounds, and five assists and Embiid had 16 points, 11 rebounds, and four assists. The two also combined for three blocked shots as they continue to show off their defensive acumen.
The team is only 21 games into the season, but Horford is feeling solid about himself and Embiid as a pairing.
“I’d probably say a ‘B-‘”, said Horford. “I still think there’s a lot of work for group in general, I’m not saying me and Jo, I’m saying for the group in general. We’re making strides, but we’re not where we need to be. We just have to continue to work.”

Just like all things, this will all take time before this gets off the ground. The Sixers are a group that is trying to figure themselves out due to the odd construction of the roster compared to everybody else in the league.
“The good thing is it’s only December,” Horford added. “I do feel like we’re starting to understand how coach wants us to play and we’re getting better each game.”
Only 21 games into a season that’s 82 games and Horford feels like they’re at a “B-“? These are all good things for the Sixers moving forward. It only gets better when they continue to play together. [lawrence-related id=20486,20452,20442]
