Report: Colts worked out WR Dontrelle Inman

Colts bring in a familiar face.

Having to deal with serious injuries thinning out the wide receiver position, the Indianapolis Colts reportedly brought in Dontrelle Inman for a workout on Monday.

A familiar face from the 2018 season, Inman was productive in his stint with the Colts. With Devin Funchess and Chester Rogers now lost for the season—and with T.Y. Hilton and Parris Campbell recovering from injuries—the Colts are looking for a reliable target to bring in.

Following the team’s crucial 31-17 loss against the Tennessee Titans, Inman got a workout with his former team, per Field Yates of ESPN.

Inman played nine games (four starts) with the Colts in 2018 as a mid-season pickup. He contributed immediately and proved to have a solid connection with then-quarterback Andrew Luck. The 30-year-old receiver caught 28 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns as a solid complement to the aforementioned Hilton.

Inman had a reunion with the Los Angeles Chargers, signing with the team in August. He played four games with the team before suffering a quad injury that landed him on the injured reserve. He was released from the injured reserve list on Nov. 26.

It wouldn’t be a surprise at all to see the Colts sign Inman given their prior relationship and desperate need for capable bodies in the wide receiver room.
