Redskins promote Chris Odom to active roster

The Redskins made roster moves before Week 13.

Chris Odom has his chance with the Washington Redskins.

The team announced two moves before Sunday’s Week 13 clash with the Carolina Panthers. The Redskins cut linebacker Carroll Phillips and in the process bumped Odom up from the practice squad to active roster.

Odom, who had his practice squad spot eliminated in October via the Cassanova McKinzy move, has spent time in the NFL with a handful of teams since 2017 and even popped into the AAF with the Salt Lake Stallions.

Just 10 days after getting re-signed to the practice squad, Odom is now a member of the 53 and has a chance to prove on special teams and otherwise he deserves to stick for the rest of the season, if not more.
