Ty Jerome scored 18 points Saturday in his second G League rehab game

Suns rookie Ty Jerome had a productive game on Saturday in the G League with the NAZ Suns as he recovers from a sprained ankle.

Phoenix Suns rookie Ty Jerome recorded a season-high 18 points, including 16 in the first half alone, Saturday night in his second rehab assignment with the Northern Arizona Suns of the G League.

The 24th overall pick re-joined the NAZ Suns on Saturday after Phoenix sent him down for another assignment as he recovers from a sprained right ankle suffered in practice on Oct. 21. He logged 19 minutes off of the bench, playing in 5-8 minute stretches in three-quarters of work before sitting in the final period.

Jerome showed no lingering issues with his ankle as he finished 6-of-8 from the field while converting on both 3-point attempts. He took contact on a couple of different plays, finishing strong at the rim to draw a few trips to the free-throw line. Overall, his performance was effective as he led the Suns in scoring during the loss to the Sioux Falls Skyforce.

Jerome recorded nine points in 13 minutes off of the bench in his first rehab assignment on Nov. 26 before he was recalled by Phoenix the following day.

The Suns upped his workload on Saturday as Jerome appears to be progressing well in his recovery. The organization may want Jerome to play another game or two in the G League prior to making his NBA debut with Phoenix to ensure he is 100% healthy again.

Northern Arizona plays next on Tuesday against the Memphis Hustle.
