Report: Colts to place TE Eric Ebron on IR

Eric Ebron’s season ends.

The Indianapolis Colts are reportedly preparing to send tight end Eric Ebron to the injured reserve list due to injuries to both of his ankles.

Ebron, who needs procedures done on both of his ankles, has been dealing with these issues for a few weeks now. His season is over now as he heads for the injured reserve list, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

After a career season in 2018, Ebron was a massive disappointment for the Colts. He rarely made the same type of impact on the offense and will finish the season with 31 receptions for 375 yards and just three touchdowns.

Ebron was in the final year of his two-year deal he signed with the Colts before the 2018 season. Given the lack of impact he had in 2019, it isn’t clear if the Colts will make him a priority this offseason.

The Colts’ passing game continues to take a hit as Ebron heads for the injured reserve list.
