[autotag]Michael Page[/autotag] scored yet another highlight-reel knockout at Bellator Europe 6. And while welterweight champion [autotag]Douglas Lima[/autotag] was impressed, he apparently wasn’t that impressed.
Page made quick work of Giovanni Melillo on Saturday, knocking him out with one punch at the 1:47 mark of the first round in their headliner. As he did during fight week, Page reiterated his desire for a rematch with Lima when he got on the microphone at The SSE Arena, Wembley in London.
“I’m gonna take something back that you stole from me,” Page said.
Earlier this year, Lima handed Page his first loss in the semifinals of the promotion’s 170-pound grand prix with a brutal second-round knockout. Lima then went on to win the title against Rory MacDonald in the final last month.
So how does Lima feel about granting Page a title shot next? While he called “Venom’s” Bellator Europe 6 victory a “solid performance,” the champ made it clear that he needs to see more.
Solid performance Michael Page! But I need to see wins against ranked opponents then you know where I’ll be! ✊🏽 @BellatorMMA

“I need to see wins against ranked opponents then you know where I’ll be!” Lima tweeted.
Since losing to Lima, Page has back-to-back knockout wins. But, as Lima noted, they haven’t come against the most formidable competition in Richard Kiely, who is 3-2 in five fights, and now Melillo, who was making his Bellator debut Saturday.
It appears MVP will have to do more to get what he wants.
