LeBron James, Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers continue on their six-game road trip tonight against the Memphis Grizzlies, less than 24 hours after holding on to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder in OKC on Friday night.
Saturday marks the second game of the season between the Lakers and Grizzlies while also marking the second back-to-back of the season for the Lakers while it’s their first true road back-to-back of the young season. As for the Grizzlies, not a whole lot has changed since the first meeting between the two squads. They remain an intriguing and talented group, but are far from making noise in the Western Conference.
No. 2 overall pick Ja Morant has been incredible in the early season, making his first game-winning shot in a road win at Charlotte, giving him a nod for this year’s Rookie of the Year award as his fellow rookies don’t quite have the same singular moment that stands out.
Morant will be the key to stopping the Grizzlies offensively and last time the two teams plays, the Lakers were smothering defensively as they allowed just 91 points on 32% shooting from the field and 20.6% from the 3-point line.
