Prediction
Heat 105, 76ers 102
Moneyline (ML)
Both teams played Friday with the Heat beating the Chicago Bulls 116-108 on the road and the 76ers topping the San Antonio Spurs 115-104 at home. Miami has won five straight and Philadelphia is riding a three-game streak. The Sixers are 6-0 at home and outscore their opponents 110.1-106.3 overall. The Heat are 5-3 on the road and outscore the opposition 112.4-104.0 on the season.
The 76ers (-223) have the home-court advantage but the value lies with the HEAT (+180). Miami has the better offense and defense and enters the day on the longer winning streak. Take the money.
New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Heat to win outright returns a profit of $18 while the same wager on the 76ers would net $4.48.
Against the Spread (ATS)
The moneyline is much more appealing but the HEAT are still tempting enough on the spread of +4.5 (-106). Miami will need to either win outright or stay within four points in a loss for a $10 bet to return a profit of $9.43.
The Heat are 11-2-1 ATS overall and 5-2-1 on the road. The Sixers are 7-7-1 overall and just 3-3 at home. Miami covers by an average of seven points per game against Philly’s minus-0.8 margin. The Heat are 0-1-1 ATS on the second half of a back-to-back with the 76ers just 0-1, losing by 15 points to the Orlando Magic.
Over/Under (O/U)
Take the UNDER 212.5 (-115). Philly is 8-7 against the projected totals while topping the number by an average of just 0.3 points. Miami is 7-7 and falls an average of 2.5 points shy of the projection.
The two teams combine to average better than 222 points per game but their defenses allow just 210. The back-to-back situation for both sides will slow things down with starters likely to see fewer minutes.
