Steelers vs Bengals game status report: JuJu Smith-Schuster, James Conner OUT

The Steelers will be without two starters on offense this week.

When the Pittsburgh Steelers take on the Cincinnati Bengals this week, they will do so shorthanded on offense. The game status report is out for Pittsburgh and the Steelers will be down two starters in wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster and running back James Conner.

Smith-Schuster is dealing with a double whammy of a concussion as well as a knee injury. The good news is Diontae Johnson is off the injury report so Pittsburgh won’t be quite so shorthanded at wide receiver.

Conner aggravated the shoulder injury he’s been dealing with for more than a month and this one could keep him on the shelf for a while. But the absence of Conner should be cushioned somewhat by the return of Benny Snell Jr. who has been recovering from a knee injury.

The report also lists cornerback Artie Burns as doubtful. Burns is largely used on special teams so his loss won’t be felt as much should he miss the game.
