Dos Anjos (29-12 MMA, 18-10 UFC) most recently competed in July at UFC on ESPN 4, where he lost a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards. The defeat was dos Anjos’ third in four outings, having also dropped recent fights to Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington.
Conversely, Washington’s Chiesa (16-4 MMA, 9-4 UFC) is undefeated since moving up to welterweight. After he defeated Carlos Condit in his divisional debut at UFC 232 last December, Chiesa won a unanimous decision over Diego Sanchez at UFC 239 in July.
