76ers rookie Paul Reed enters health and safety protocols

Philadelphia 76ers rookie Paul Reed was ruled out of playing on Saturday due to the health and safety protocols, the team announced prior to facing the Milwaukee Bucks.

Reed was one of four players that did not play on Saturday as the Sixers were also without Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid and Furkan Korkmaz. Fortunately, Reed entering the health and safety protocols is an isolated incident that isn’t expected to impact the rest of the team.

“If it was, the team would be in protocol,” head coach Doc Rivers said, via Ky Carlin of Sixers Wire. “They always do the contract tracing and all that stuff and we’re good there.”

Reed, who was named the 2020-21 NBA G League MVP, has played sparingly this season with the Sixers. He hasn’t logged significant playing time since April 4 and is averaging 2.6 points and 1.8 rebounds in 18 appearances this season.
