The Los Angeles Rams could overhaul their receiver room in the offseason with Cooper Kupp getting older and Demarcus Robinson, Tutu Atwell and Tyler Johnson all set to become free agents. Puka Nacua is locked in as the No. 1 option moving forward, but the Rams might be in search of a No. 2 wideout this spring.
Might Keenan Allen be the man for the job?
The six-time Pro Bowler is set to become a free agent in March and he has a short list of teams he’d be willing to play for in 2025. In addition to staying with the Bears, he’d also be open to signing with either the Rams or Chargers next season.
That’s because his family still lives in Southern California so he wouldn’t have to move them if he returned to Los Angeles.
Here’s an excerpt from the Chicago Sun-Times:
He said Friday he’d be open to playing for either the Chargers or Rams next year; if he decides to sign a new deal with the Bears, Allen said he’d at least consider moving his family to the Chicago area.
“I have to talk it over with the wife and the kids to see what they want to do,” he said.
If the Rams are looking to get younger at receiver, Allen may not be their best choice. He’ll turn 33 in April, making him about a year older than Kupp is. However, when healthy, he’s a highly productive receiver.
He’s scored at least six touchdowns in seven of the last eight years, and that’s with missing 16 games in the last four seasons alone.
This year with the Bears, he caught 70 passes for 744 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games, playing in an offense that was one of the worst in the NFL for a variety of reasons. At this point in his career, he probably wouldn’t be too expensive to sign, so he could be someone to watch for the Rams in March.
