61-year-old golfer wins event using a cheap putter for every shot

This will make you feel pretty bad about your expensive set of clubs.

61-year-old golfer Anthony Griggs, who lives in Arizona, decided he’d make golf harder for himself by limiting his selection of clubs. According to Golfweek, Griggs “got bored” of playing with a full set after he had become a good player, and instead began playing with just a single club in his bag – his putter.

Incredibly, Griggs was able to beat a field of golfers at Whirlwind Golf Club in Chandler Arizona to win a D Flight event, taking all 84 shots – from tee to green – with his putter. It may just be the cheapest winning set you’ll ever find, too. After breaking a Scotty Cameron, Griggs replaced it with a three-dollar putter from Goodwill, and then went on to beat a bunch of guys playing with all 13 clubs. Golfweek has the full story.
